On May 27-28 of this year, an international conference on the topic "Expanding the Opportunities of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses in Increasing Economic Development and Competitiveness" was held at the Miraki Cultural and Tourism Center in the Shahrisabz district of the Kashkadarya region.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, small and medium-sized businesses, financial institutions, international organizations, development partners, the Asian Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the World Bank, the United Nations Development Program, as well as a number of scientific institutions, research centers, and the media.
The main goal of the conference was to officially present the Strategy for the Development of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses of Uzbekistan for 2025-2030, actively involve stakeholders in the implementation of this strategy, and strengthen cooperation.
This conference was recognized as a comprehensive initiative aimed at achieving sustainable economic growth through the development of the micro, small and medium-sized business sector.
Notably, the conference was also attended by Shahlo Ibragimova, Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSCB "Mikrokreditbank".
In her speech, Shahlo Ibragimova reported on the results achieved by JSCB "Mikrokreditbank" in financial support of small businesses, development of family entrepreneurship and active involvement of women in entrepreneurship. She also noted that the bank is actively involved in supporting local entrepreneurs through innovative credit products, consulting services and educational programs.
The conference discussed the goals, priorities and implementation mechanisms of the strategy, developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, international financial institutions and development agencies. In particular, the main focus was on knowledge exchange, the introduction of best practices, financial support for small and medium-sized businesses, and the expansion of women's and youth entrepreneurship.
At the end of the international conference, the role of participants in the implementation of the strategy, cooperation mechanisms and future plans for the implementation of important initiatives were determined.
