On May 13 of this year, a briefing is being held on "Work being carried out by Microcredit Bank to ensure employment and reduce poverty."
Today, improving the living standards of the population and reducing poverty in our country is one of the priority areas of state policy. In this regard, a number of tasks were set for banks at the videoconference meeting of the President on December 16, 2024. In order to implement these tasks, a program of special measures was adopted by Mikrokreditbank.
The first direction is the neighborhood-based work system
A special department was established within the bank, and a “neighborhood sector” was established in the regions. 332 “neighborhood bankers” were assigned to 1,121 neighborhoods and an assistant agent in each neighborhood. Through them, a system of studying the needs of the population and providing targeted financial services was established.
The second direction is active support through lending
In the past 4 months of this year, the bank allocated a total of 3.6 trillion soums in loans. Of this, 1.8 trillion soums were directly provided to residents and entrepreneurs in neighborhoods. Programs such as “Family Entrepreneurship”, “First Step to Business”, and “Neighborhood Project” became the mainstay of this process.
The third important area - job creation
In January-April, about 122 thousand people were employed with the support of the bank, of which 76 thousand were involved in entrepreneurship. In particular, more than 18 thousand microprojects were implemented, creating about 38 thousand new jobs.
The fourth area - Meetings with bank clients
During the reporting period, 1,100 meetings were held with 17 thousand entrepreneurs who were bank clients. As a result of the positive resolution of more than 5 thousand of the appeals raised during the meetings, about 6 thousand new jobs were created.
Fifth direction - social initiatives
In Bukhara region, poor families were provided with about 900 million soums of sponsorship funds for the repair of houses, livestock, sheep and poultry, seeds and agricultural equipment for planting crops on their plots, sewing machines, greenhouses, a sports ground (workout) on the school grounds, and beauty salons. In addition, 10 thousand fruit seedlings were distributed to 380 poor families in 53 neighborhoods.
Sixth direction - tourism development
The bank built hotels and shopping complexes in the recently commissioned "Arda Khiva" tourist complexes in Khiva, Khorezm region. Contractors were attracted to implement the projects on a competitive basis, and 185 billion soums were invested.
Today, the construction work on the “Arda Khiva” project has been completed and put into operation, as a result of which more than 300 new jobs have been created.
Also, in accordance with the President’s Resolution No. PQ-410 dated November 29, 2024, it is planned to build a Craftsmen’s Center on an area of 6.2 hectares of land adjacent to the “Tort Shovvoz” cultural heritage site in the city of Khiva. In order to finance this project, it is planned to invest another 435 billion soums in the authorized capital of “MKB Kasana Invest Group” LLC.
The next direction is the cultivation of highly profitable, export-oriented products on 1,741 hectares of land leased to the population within the framework of model projects on the basis of “One Contour - One Product” through preferential loans for 159 projects for agriculture in the amount of 2.2 billion soums. Also, a “cultivation - processing - sale” chain will be created within the framework of “Super Projects”.
Of course, as a result of these projects, it is expected that the volume of agricultural products will increase and the income of the population will improve.
In conclusion, it should be noted that these works initiated by the Microcredit Bank serve to attract the population to active economic life, expand sources of income, and ensure employment.
