(On the example of a neighborhood banker)
On June 27 of this year, a briefing will be held on "Work carried out by Microcredit Bank to ensure employment and reduce poverty."
Raising the standard of living and reducing poverty in our country is one of the priority areas of state policy. In this regard, a number of tasks were set for banks at the videoconference meeting of the President on December 16, 2024. In order to implement these tasks, a program of special measures was adopted by Microcredit Bank.
Today we would like to provide you with a brief overview of the main activities being carried out within the framework of this program.
The first direction is the neighborhood work system
Following the instructions given by our President, a special department was established within the bank, and a “neighborhood sector” was established in the regions. 332 “neighborhood bankers” were assigned to 1,121 neighborhoods and an assistant agent in each neighborhood. Through them, a system of studying the needs of the population and providing targeted financial services was established.
The second direction is active support through lending
In the past period of this year, the bank allocated a total of more than 5 trillion soums in loans. It is noteworthy that 2.1 trillion soums of this amount were directly transferred to the population and entrepreneurs by “Neighborhood bankers” assigned directly to neighborhoods. Programs such as “Family Entrepreneurship”, “First Step to Business”, and “Neighborhood Project” became the mainstay of this process.
The third important direction is job creation
In this regard, in January-June, 183 thousand elderly people were provided with employment with the support of the bank, of which 119 thousand were involved in entrepreneurship. In particular, as a result of the implementation of more than 26 thousand microprojects, about 53 thousand new jobs were created.
The fourth direction is meetings with bank clients
During the reporting period, 1,637 meetings were held with 23 thousand entrepreneurs who were bank clients. As a result of the positive resolution of more than 7.5 thousand of the appeals raised during the meetings, about 8.5 thousand new jobs were created.
The next direction is tourism development
The bank has built hotels and shopping complexes in the “Arda Khiva” tourist complex in Khiva, Khorezm region, which was commissioned in May. Contractors were attracted to implement the projects on a competitive basis, and 185 billion soums were invested.
Today, construction work on the “Arda Khiva” project has been completed and commissioned, as a result of which more than 300 new jobs have been created.
Also, in accordance with the President’s Resolution No. PQ-410 dated November 29, 2024, it is planned to build a Craftsmen’s Center on an area of 6.2 hectares adjacent to the “Tort Shovvoz” cultural heritage site in Khiva. In order to finance this project, another 435 billion soums have been invested in the authorized capital of “MKB Kasana Invest Group” LLC.
Another direction is model projects.
It should be noted that on 1,741 hectares of land leased to the population, high-yielding, export-oriented products are being grown through preferential loans of 2.2 billion soums for 159 projects for agriculture on the basis of "One Contour - One Product". Also, a "cultivation - processing - sale" chain has been created within the framework of "Super Projects".
Of course, as a result of these projects, the volume of agricultural products is expected to increase and the income of the population to improve.
In conclusion, it should be noted that these works initiated by the Microcredit Bank serve to involve the population in active economic life, expand sources of income, and ensure employment.
